We act as principal contractor under CDM regulations to ensure the correct project documentation is produced reviewed and vetted with the core function of eliminating and reducing the risk of hazards for the user and the team that will construct the project.
It is established at the start or even more beneficially at design stage given our experience of complex projects and our ability to deliver. Using industry standard packages such as Microsoft project or P6 if required we collaborate with the full team ensuring clear direction is given and available for our projects.

Our innovative in-house design services provide flexible and thorough design packages to suite a whole host of requirements. Our objective is to design out risk, aid productivity and provide sustainable solutions eliminating challenges – prior to production or build.

Are BS1192 compliant and aim to design-out risks resulting in cost & time savings at both pre- and post-implementation.

Includes Hazardous Operations (HAZOP) reviews, Operational and maintainability (OPMAN) reviews and Structured What If (SWIFT) reviews of process designs. Plus many more tailored design reviews to suit the type and complexity of design being carried out.
Ultimately all this design and these reviews follow the core CDM fiction of eliminating and reducing risk of hazards for the end user and this involved in building and decommissioning the project throughout its life-cycle.
Civils & Fabrication Services
GEL offers a full civil engineering package that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of your physical assets man-made or natural; this includes public infrastructure works such as roads, bridges, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines and the structural components of buildings.
Utilising our own in-house fabrication resources combined with external quality approved suppliers, we ensure adherence to industry quality standards whilst providing value for money.
Our services vary from smaller bespoke items such as process and system components to larger manufactured plant items. such as machine fabrication, chain roller and belt conveyors. The production of chutes, hoppers, screw conveyors and silos can also be accommodated.
Working with our approved partners, larger silos can be designed and built without height restrictions; in addition to other taller manufactured steel installations such as platforms, towers, storage tanks and bucket elevators.
GEL also fabricate pipe work to exacting industry standards including; composite ductile, iron and stainless steel, clean water, biogas and effluent. All manufacture and logistics are handled by GEL; delivering with full documentation to site locations across the UK; whilst complying with site health & safety procedures.
